How Good Are Affirmations Really?

Author: TOMAS COIMIN

Well now there is a million dollar question but this is one answer that may surprise you: better than a slap in the face or a bucket of cold water over your head on a frosty day and not a towel in sight! If something is positive then by all means it is inherently beneficial but would you sit down for a big dinner with only one item on the plate?

Well motivational techniques are similar in that the scope for improvement encapsulates a wide array of practices and the more in the mix the greater the opportunity for success. The Secret gave the impression that to dream and wish for something is all there is to it; well not quite really as reality is more demanding than that.

So what is a wee bugger (Webster's) to do besides scratch one's head if one wants great improvement? Well for starters realize that not all apparently inappropriate language is incorrect and may actually reside in a dictionary. Then sit down and have a good cup of tea with some nice nutritional snacks while you prepare your mind for some improvements i.e. adjusted mindset!

Look at it this way; to service an engine you have to raise the hood / bonnet and see what you have to deal with. This is akin to sorting out the crapola in your current mindset thus you take some introspection and analyse how you actually think, react and treat others.

Next on the agenda is to open the caps and check the levels of tolerance then you open the drain and release the goop. Exercise is an excellent way of releasing the limiting thought patterns by allowing oxygen to rub away the cobwebs inducing you to think and breathe.

It is essential to flush out the system for a car to have improved performance and when we follow suit like with the lemonade flush we allow repair through positive thoughts and actions thus reconstructive behaviours make room for greater reception. Affirmations are a mild flush to eradicate negativity but have to be delivered with the thrust of belief and conviction which is akin to changing the fuses or worse; a dead battery.

For improved mileage it is essential to check the tyre pressures and thus weight distribution flows easily with heightened performance. Rocket science is for a specific trained mindset but looking after your well being is as simple as being careful with what you allow in to your system as the outpouring will correspond; thus be careful.

The incorrect oil in your cars engine will result in a breakdown and likewise your body cannot consume rubbish for optimum performance. Basically then affirmations work but only if part of an expansive plan, otherwise you may as well have a quick wash instead of the deluxe with a spick and span drying to boot. God bless.

Useful tip: pay attention what you put into your system, whether car or body because while resting all the goop lodges where it does harm and over time will decay your capacity for effective performance. You have the ability to fight off many illnesses within your mind but if the correct nutrition is not put in then you pay the price. Jesus says: ‘man does not live by bread alone.' Likewise your automobile needs more than what you put into the fuel tank; why should your body be any different.

Ps. By the way where do they get the seeds to grow seedless grapes?
